So when I guessed $15.93 was about as cheap as they would get before the holidays, I guessed wrong.

Through the 12/19, Entertainment Books are on sale for $19.99 with free shipping, plus when you shop through Ebates.com or MrRebates.com, you’ll 35% cash back on your purchase! (Just search for entertainment.com on either cash back site to find the link to click through.) That brings the final price, after $7 cash back, to $12.99. Just be aware that you might not receive your book by Christmas if you were considering giving it as a gift.*

I got my 2011 Richmond book last week, and flipped through it quickly. Many of the offers are the same year-to-year, but I’m noticing less “high end” restaurants in the first part of the book than there used to be (This is a very unscientific observation, I know). On the other hand, this edition included more food freebies than I remember in previous years, as well as a few “$5 off” cards packaged separately:

entertainment book freebies

Coupons include free fries at Hardee’s, free vanilla cone at Sonic, free cookies from Subway, free movie at Regal Cinemas on your birthday, $5 off any purchase at Cheeburger Cheeburger, and free Grand Slam breakfast, Sunset dinner entree, and $5 off at Denny’s.

(Update: I went to the mailbox just after posting and found a postcard from Entertainment.com advertising free rush shipping this Friday Dec 17. If Christmas delivery is important, consider waiting til Friday, go figure 🙂 I would anticipate the cash back still working in conjunction with the Friday offer, but no guarantees)

Today only, Entertainment Books are on sale online for 30% off with free shipping. Plus, cash back site Ebates is offering 35% cash back on Entertainment.com purchases (and if you haven’t used Ebates before, you can get a $5 bonus for signing up!)

To get this deal:
-Sign into Ebates (or join)
-Find the Entertainment.com link on Ebates and click through to the Entertainment site
-Then find the Richmond book and purchase – the $35 regular price will be reduced to $24.50. After cash back savings from Ebates, the net cost of a book is $15.93

Additional books only cost $20 (before cash back) if you want to purchase some as gifts or would like another city.

This is *probably* about as cheap as it will get until into the new year. If you eat out in Richmond frequently, or travel a lot, I find the Entertainment books to be a worthwhile investment. As the daily deal sites gain traction, however, it will be interesting to see if the Entertainment Book business model remains viable.

entertainment book sale

The 2011 Richmond Entertainment book is on sale for $29.75 (Regularly $35.00) and ships for free, today only (Wednesday). Not too shabby considering you can start using the coupons now and they don’t expire ’til November 1, 2011.

Plus if you shop through cash back site Mr. Rebates, you’ll receive 30% cash back, making the final cost only $20.83. New Mr. Rebates users also receive $5 bonus cash back!

If you’d prefer to wait, book prices will continue to drop until they reach $10 or so around March/April.

I’m still getting my money’s worth out of our 2010 book – used a coupon to save an extra $25 on our Austin rental car!
