For your Easter weekend, there is Dominion Family Easter at Maymont on Saturday (free entrance, fees for activities) and Easter on Parade on Monument Avenue Sunday afternoon, as well as an Earth Day Global Sounds Concert at UR and the Punjabimela Indian festival.

    SPRING BREAK WEEK AT MAYMONT
    Monday-Friday, April 1-5, 2013
    Spend spring break week at Maymont! Indoor exhibits including Maymont Mansion and the Nature Center will be open all week (even on Monday, when they are usually closed), and there will be something fun to do every day!     FAMILY SCAVENGER HUNT AT MAYMONT
    Monday-Friday, April 1-5, 10am-12pm, Maymont Grounds
    Explore Maymont’s 100 acres in a whole new way! Crack secret codes for clues, and use maps and riddles to find your way around the estate in this family-friendly scavenger hunt. Different difficulty levels are available. Ages 4 and older; adult must accompany child. $10 per family/group (up to four people). For information, call 804-358-7166, ext. 324.     MAYMONT’S ADVENTURES IN VEGETABLE GROWING
    Monday-Friday, April 1-5, 10am-2pm, Jack’s Vegetable Garden
    What can be grown in one square foot? Stop by Jack’s Vegetable Garden before leaving the Children’s Farm to talk with Chesterfield Master Gardeners and learn how to grow your own food in a pot, a small garden or even in one square foot of soil!     BEHIND THE SCENES AT MAYMONT
    Monday-Friday, April 1-5, 12-12:30pm, Nature Center
    Walk through the Employees Only door for a special peek at the inner workings of the Maymont Nature Center. Thirteen aquariums and more than 200 animals require more care than meets the eye. Ages 5 and older; adult must accompany child. $4 per person. Register at the Visitor Center desk on the day of the program. (Groups of 5 or more must register in advance.)     MAYMONT’S LIONS IN THE LIBRARY
    Monday-Friday, April 1-5, 1-1:30pm, Maymont Mansion
    Swans in the bedroom? Reading with lions? Discover all the wonderful animals that “inhabit” Maymont Mansion during this engaging tour for families. $5 per person. For information, call 804-358-7166, ext. 329.

    ANIMAL PROFILE AT MAYMONT’S NATURE CENTER
    Monday-Friday, April 1-5, 2-2:30pm, Nature Center
    Discover more about Maymont’s animals in this up-close encounter! Visit with turtles (Monday), snakes (Tuesday), owls (Wednesday), insects (Thursday) and amphibians (Friday). $4 per person/free for Maymont members.     MAYMONT’S PINWHEELS & PASTIMES

    THE SECRET LIFE OF A VICTORIAN HOUSE AT MAYMONT
    Monday-Friday, April 1-5, 3-3:45pm, Maymont Mansion
    Explore Maymont Mansion and learn what it was like to live and work at the estate 100 years ago. The Dooleys’ housemaid brings the mansion to life during a family-friendly tour of the upstairs and downstairs of this grand home. $5 per person. For information, call 804-358-7166, ext. 329.

    ANIMAL PROFILE AT MAYMONT’S RAPTOR VALLEY
    Monday-Friday, April 1-5, 4-4:30pm, Eagle Amphitheater
    Discover more about Maymont’s animals with the education staff. Bears, skunks and raptors are among the animals that will be featured throughout the week. Free! Register at Raptor Valley by the eagle’s nest prior to the program, groups of 5 or more must register in advance. For information, call 804-358-7166, ext. 333.

Short Pump Town Center Spring Petting Farm – Come visit baby bunnies, chicks, ducks, lambs and more! The spring petting farm is located in the Main Plaza and is held weather permitting March 30-April 7 (closed Easter Sunday). Admission is free. For more information, call 804-360-1700.

Club Mom – Tuesday 9-11am; Chesterfield Towne Center, 11500 Midlothian Turnpike
Club Mom occurs the first Tuesday of every month in our Food Court from 9-11 a.m. and features great entertainment, fun giveaways for the adults, and free breakfast for children 12 years or younger. (Breakfast tickets are given out until 10:30 a.m. and are valid until 10:45 a.m. on Club Mom event days.).     Spring Break Nature Heyday

    Sheep Shearing
