richmond entertainment book

Today only, Entertainment Books are on sale online for 30% off with free shipping. Plus, cash back site Ebates is offering 35% cash back on purchases (and if you haven’t used Ebates before, you can get a $5 bonus for signing up!)

To get this deal:
-Sign into Ebates (or join)
-Find the link on Ebates and click through to the Entertainment site
-Then find the Richmond book and purchase – the $35 regular price will be reduced to $24.50. After cash back savings from Ebates, the net cost of a book is $15.93

Additional books only cost $20 (before cash back) if you want to purchase some as gifts or would like another city.

This is *probably* about as cheap as it will get until into the new year. If you eat out in Richmond frequently, or travel a lot, I find the Entertainment books to be a worthwhile investment. As the daily deal sites gain traction, however, it will be interesting to see if the Entertainment Book business model remains viable.

staples batteries

Until you become a parent, you don’t realize what an integral role batteries play in children’s lives. In my little guy’s first year, every device and toy he touched seemed to chew through C’s and D’s. Now, it’s all about the AA’a, AAA’s, and watch batteries – not cheap!

So you know I’ve already taken advantage of the deal that Staples is running this week: Get a 20-pack of Duracell AA or AAA batteries for $9.99 and receive the full value back in Staples Rewards, limit 2 per Staples Rewards account. Deal is valid through Saturday.

The way Staples Rewards works is first you must be registered for the free program (can sign up in store too). Scan your rewards card at checkout. A month or two after you purchase the items that qualify for rewards, you’ll receive a rewards check for the amount that is redeemable at Staples and expires after about a month. You can use it to purchase MORE items that qualify for rewards; I paid for most of my battery purchase with an $18 check I earned in January buying other “Free After Rewards” items.
