Crafty types! You should know about this new organization – Stuff Redux: Richmond Creative Reuse Center that just opened last month.
We promote sustainability, creativity, and community engagement by redistributing discarded material to the community for creative and educational projects. Our vision is to help build a community that values the transformation of materials in Richmond…
When people and businesses around Richmond have items they can longer use they bring them to us! We have 800 sq. ft. of space filled with all sorts of materials perfect for your creative endeavor. We have standard office and craft supplies as well as more unique odds and ends.
Basically, the center collects unwanted supplies and reusable items and sells them inexpensively to creative people to turn into new cool stuff!
It was mentioned in the March issue of Richmond Magazine, which focused on Stuff’s partnership with the VCU medical department to find new lives for (non-contaminated but) discarded medical supplies.
The store also offers workshops and classes. (They even do birthday parties!)
If you have surplus supplies, check the website for more info about what is needed and how to donate. The project is also seeking crowdsource funding if you’d like to make a monetary donation.
Open Friday and Saturday: 11 AM – 5 PM
OR By Appointment
I don’t anticipate visiting anytime soon because I accept I have no will-power to resist stockpiling neat little odds and ends with vague grandiose intentions!
