A Richmond tradition, the 2012 Carytown Watermelon Festival will be this Sunday, August 5th, from 10am to 6pm along the length of Carytown.
Imagine…115,000 people, over 3000 watermelons and you! With 80 musicians, over 100 exhibitors, one of the largest kids areas of any festival on the east coast and all of the great Carytown style, the Carytown Watermelon Festival presented by Martin’s has become the largest one day festival in the state of Virginia. Mark your calendar now for a great day of family fun.
There’s a ton of stuff for the kids too! Expanded this year with more than ever before. Bouncies, games, mazes and more…Make sure you check out the Richmond Area Toyota Dealers Kids Zone at Watermelon!
Retailers also use the Festival as an excuse to roll out sidewalk sales and other big clearances. For instance, Bygones Vintage Clothing will be having a rummage sale with clothing and jewelry $1-$10.
With the current forecast predicting a high of 93 degrees, it’ll be toasty, but may defy the tradition of being the hottest day of the summer!
