Kids Layne – Updated Review

Kids Layne – Designer Deals and Boutique Bargains has grown a lot since I reviewed it in 2009. This season, the sale is housed in the former CVS space in Canterbury Shopping Center on Patterson Avenue.

Unlike most sales, Kids Layne includes new items like designer overstocks at a discount, in additional to the usual consignment. It is also unique in its focus on boutique and designer brands; if you love smocked, this is the sale for you! I’m no help on that front because I know nothing about smocking.

Browsing the racks was fun because everything was high quality and I didn’t have to go digging to find the good stuff. Prices that I saw started at $2 and went into the $30’s.

As always, I gravitate to what I know – boys’ clothes. One of my issues with current styles is the capri length which seems to be standard issue in boys shorts, so I was in love with how many “normal” length shorts I found on the racks at Kids Layne. Don’t worry Boy Moms, I didn’t take them all 🙂 But I did pick up Crewcuts and Janie & Jack pairs for $3 each! (see photos) Some of the new tees were very affordable, with Olive Juice brand starting at $2.

There is a small section of kids toys, baby items, etc.

Kids Layne also has monogramming available on-site and some vendors. They accept credit, but prefer cash or check.

You can shop today until 7pm, Saturday 8am to 4pm and Sunday 8am til noon. 10616 Patterson Avenue (intersection of Patterson ave and Pump)
