Have you heard of the Richmond Folk Festival?
It’s kind of a big deal, and it’s happening this Friday through Sunday downtown around Brown’s Island and the riverfront. (Oh, and it’s FREE!)
I won’t waste my time rehashing the wealth of information that’s already out there regarding it, so here are some links in addition to the main website:
RVA News coverage (Especially important: Schedule and parking and transportation)
Richmond.com Folk Festival preview
Folk Festival map & stories on timesdispatch.com, plus convenient jukebox to hear clips of festival performers
For on-the-go info: iPhone users, don’t miss the free Folk Festival iPhone app created just for you by the good folks of RVANews. Other smartphone users may want to bookmark Richmond Good Life’s mobile-friendly festival info.
(A few photos I took at last year’s event)
The nearby Richmond Ballet will also be offering free performances during the Folk Festival, with shows by the Professional Company (Voyages by Mauricio Wainrot), Richmond Ballet Trainees and School of Richmond Ballet Students (Suite of Russian Folk Dances), and Richmond Ballet Minds In Motion Team XXL (Dancing for a Brand New Bay)
