Being Labor Day weekend, the event schedule is light. (There are a lot of sales to make up for it; check back tomorrow!)
FRIDAY
Friday Live at Five: The Entertainers – Friday beginning at 5pm; The Hideaway, Fort Lee
The Hideaway is located next to Outdoor Recreation on 5th Street, just off C Ave. All concerts will play rain or shine. Event times for all shows will begin with a DJ spinning from 5- 6pm, bands will play from 6-9pm. Admission is free; food and beverages will be available for purchase. First Fridays Artwalk – Friday 5-10pm; Downtown along Broad St
Experience almost 40 diverse creative businesses and organizations located in Downtown Richmond through a self-guided walking tour, on and off Historic Broad Street. Entertainment along the streets and at various venues. Locations and times vary. SPECIAL THIS MONTH: We welcome UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing) to First Fridays! UNOS will host a Grand Opening of their new Gallery Space from 5pm-9pm, featuring the paintings of Baxter Perkinson, 30 Years of Giving Back. Free 700 North 4th Street (at Jackson St)
Cinema Classics: Ben Hur – ($1) Friday 7pm; Henrico Theatre
“Experience olde time cinema” at Henrico Theatre in Highland Springs. Tickets are only $1 per person and can be purchased at the door. Information: Henrico Theatre Staff, 328-4491.
First Fridays Concert: West Hanover Boys – Friday 7pm; Montpelier Center for Arts & Education, 17205 Mountain Road
Featuring The West Hanover Boys with special guests. Come out and enjoy local bluegrass music and support a great cause all at the same time. All donations will support The Montpelier Center for Arts & Education. Bring your friends! Snacks & drinks will be available for purchase

Dr. Shepherd’s Orchard – Saturday 1-3pm; Meadow Farm Museum
Hear the story of Johnny Appleseed. Explore the fascinating history of apples and John Sheppard’s apple orchard. See Meadow Farm’s 153 year old pear tree and learn its story. Information: Anna Truong, 501-2130.
