Yard Sale Season really began in earnest last weekend; I saw signs for church yard sales on every street corner. And from my experience reporting on sales last year, May is high season for my most favorite kind: the neighborhood yard sale.

Instead of GPS-ing all over town in search of individual garage sales, or driving aimlessly in hopes of spotting signs, I can make one or two neighborhoods my home base and find all the yard sales I can shop in one morning.

Plus, it also seems that neighborhood yard sales bring out the families that decide the night before their neighborhood sale “Hey, we’ve got some stuff to get rid of” and throw it out un-priced in the yard in the morning. They’re not looking to make money, really just de-clutter = good deals!
