We took our toddler to his first Flying Squirrels baseball game last Saturday evening.* He did quite well, lasting almost 5 innings. There may be more baseball games in our future
So I’ve compiled a few ideas for saving some $$ on tickets. Please chime in with other suggestions!
Kraft Singles Tuesday Night Tickets -
KRAFT Singles invites you to enjoy America’s favorite pastime. Just bring your KRAFT Singles package wrapper to the ballpark box office and buy one ticket and get one free from KRAFT Singles! Offer is valid at every Tuesday home game through September 7th.
Farm Bureau Insurance August Tickets -
To celebrate America’s pastime and Virginia’s baseball heritage, Farm Bureau Insurance has teamed up with all of the state’s minor league teams to offer free admission tickets. Fans can get two free tickets to a minor league game, good for any day during the month of August, for no other reason than being a Farm Bureau member. Farm Bureau members can pick up their tickets at the stadium ticket office by presenting their Farm Bureau membership card or a copy of the Farm Bureau Insurance Baseball Month advertisement, found in the July issue of the Cultivate magazine. Additional coupons can be found at one of the more than 100 local Farm Bureau offices throughout the commonwealth.

Score an “A” Free Ticket Program through Union First Market Bank -
For every “A” on your current K-12 report card during the 3rd & 4th marking period you will earn a FREE General Admission ticket to a regular season Richmond Flying Squirrels’ game! Each “A” on your report card is good for one ticket per game — if you receive 8 A’s then you’ll receive 8 General Admission tickets to 8 different games!
On the promotions page, I also see “reading nights” for various county school systems in April and May. And there’s a chance library summer reading programs will offer Squirrels tickets as rewards.
*The Squirrels still have a lot of logistics issues to work out. There were glitches trying to buy tickets, glitches trying to park, and glitches buying beer…
The summer reading program is connected to the reading nights and is a great way to get tickets. It’s sponsored by the library and Martin’s. My son got a bookmark from his school with 8 acorns on it. After reading 8 books, we returned it to the library and he got a voucher for a free ticket on his school’s reading night and a new bookmark to fill up. There are three more reading nights in the summer, and we plan on going to each one. He loves the Squirrels and can’t wait to read books to check off the acorns and get more tickets.
would love to see the fying squirrels. Glad we have a baseball team in town again.
