Pre-register now to attend the microchipping clinic being held at the Richmond SPCA on August 24 from 5-7pm. The cost is only $20 to have a microchip identifier placed on your pet.
The microchip is implanted under the pet’s skin and provides permanent identification if the pet is ever lost or strays from home. Included in the fee is lifetime registration with the 24PetWatch database. Municipal animal control facilities scan pets for microchips upon intake into their shelters, improving the likelihood pets will be reunited with their families.
This event is sponsored by the Richmond SPCA, Richmond Animal Care & Control and Hanover County Animal Control, and is open to residents of the City of Richmond and the counties of Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover and Henrico. Bring cash or credit card for payment.
The procedure easily runs $50 or $60 if done at a vet’s office, and that usually doesn’t include the registration fee. So if microchipping is something you’ve considered, sign up now to take advantage of this low price for improving the chances of recovering a lost pet!
