Monster Mash 2008 (free) – For all ages. Celebrate the Halloween spirit with the ghosts of Dorey Park. For you thrill seekers, brave your way through the Haunts of Richmond Spooky Trail. Other activities include hair-raising arts and crafts, frighteningly spooky contests and games, and rocking monster music! Richmond’s Eerie Canal (free) – Take a 30-minute, haunted canal boat ride along historic Kanawha Canal. A Haunts of Richmond narrator will accompany you, prepared with daunting tales of Richmond’s past. All children receive candy. Call 788-6466 for more information.

WEAG Fall Festival Family Carnival ($4) – Fun for the entire family and youth of all ages! This carnival type event will have lots of rides, games and activities for all ages. Wristbands will be sold that entitle the wearer to unlimited access to all rides – $4 ages 4 & up, $2 under 4. Lots of great food will also be for sale at a reasonable price. Live entertainment by Fred Spivey’s Stillwaters Band will begin at 7:00 PM. Costumes are encouraged, but please no scary ones! And of course, we will have LOTS of candy!

Brunswick Stew Festival (free) – Sample the best recipes from Stew Masters across the South while enjoying LIVE entertainment with our special guest MC, Bill Bevins from Lite 98! For the “of-age” crowd, there will also be adult beverages sponsored by the Shockoe Bottom Neighborhood Association, so bring your I.D. to compliment your favorite stew with a perfect brew.
