It’s Race Weekend, with additional promotional appearances happening around town.
FRIDAY
First Fridays Artwalk (free)
– If Hanna holds off, this sounds like great one for all ages to catch!

“Richmond will experience something entirely new on First Friday, September 5th as we open the 8th Season of First Fridays Art Walk and help 1708 Gallery celebrate its 30th Anniversary and welcome the first InLight RICHMOND project to Richmond.
Inspired by Luci d’Artista in Turin, Italy, and Nuit Blanche in Paris, France, InLight RICHMOND is a light-inspired public art exhibition featuring installations, projections, sculptures, multi-media works, and performances. Facades, store windows, parking lots, and sidewalks along Historic Broad Street will be transformed for an evening into a dizzying multi-media display celebrating the creative arts in Richmond.
There will also be an exciting series of street-based activities taking place throughout the evening such as, “Wearable InLight” and “The Roving Spectacle” featuring light-inspired costumes and performances. A diverse array of family friendly activities will be held at Theatre IV and at the Richmond Public Library’s Main Branch and Library Park, including Young Audiences of Virginia, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts’ Teen Program, Science Museum of Virginia’s Sky Lab, the SPCA, and Visual Art Center of Richmond…” (even more info on the First Fridays website and InLight blog)
